Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA)
BGCA is a national network of more than 3,900 neighborhood-based facilities annually serving some 4.6 million young people, primarily from disadvantaged circumstances. Known as “The Positive Place for Kids,” the Clubs provide guidance-oriented character development programs on a daily basis for children 6-18 years old.
The Boys & Girls Club of Chambersburg and Shippensburg became its own charter club in 2010. Before then, it was under the umbrella of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Pennsylvania.
The Boys & Girls Club of Chambersburg and Shippensburg, Inc. is a chartered member of the Boys & Girls Club of America, serving youth at two area clubhouses. A collaborative effort with the Franklin County Housing Authority , Shippensburg and Chambersburg Area School Districts offers daily activities and provides a safe place to learn and grow. We currently serve a membership of nearly 375 members at the two locations.
Our organization relies on the community to support its efforts. We partner with the United Way of Franklin County and the United Way of Shippensburg and the Franklin County Housing Authority. Individual supporters, business sponsorship's, service groups and churches in our community are a major source for our funding. We do receive some small grants, but the community is what keeps our clubs operating and thriving.
